The UR Film department has been recognized by various institutions and film festivals, and most recently our youth filmmakers were awarded with the Alameda County Youth Media Award.
Our prior clients include: Adobe Systems, The California Endowment, City of Oakland, and PG&E.
Our department provides a wide array of film production services which include:
- Location sound recording
- Post-production (video editing)
Our film production spans a wide array of genres that include: documentaries, short films, feature films, commercials, music videos, webisodes and foundation videos.
In order to give you a budget estimate for your project, you will need to provide the following information in the request form:
- Description of media project, including specific deliverables
- Timeline for production and/or deadline
Once you have submitted your request for media services we will follow up with you via email. As part of the process we will provide you with a bid, and you can negotiate specific deliverables, budget and timeline with UR Media staff until you come up with something that works for you, at which point the content will be put into an official contract.
The film & video production program at United Roots teaches youth and young adults how to make culturally relevant films that inspire people to take action about important issues in their communities. The video program focuses on a number of different genres and mode of production including: narrative filmmaking, multimedia journalism, documentary filmmaking, video blogging and music video production. At United Roots, we utilize Digital Cinema Cameras and professional equipment to train our teams so they can achieve the highest production value possible.
FALL 2019 Filmmaking Apprenticeship Program
Filmmaking Apprenticeship in partnership with Green Eyed Media and The Hidden Gem Creative Studios. Work on real films alongside professional filmmakers, and have the opportunity to develop your own short film. All participants are eligible for potential scholarships, internships and contracted work with Green Eyed Media and other local media businesses. 3-9 month commitment and interview required for acceptance into program.
